I’m Jordan; an Australian-born, London-based writer with a passion for design, brands with stories and big glasses of gin.

Part blog, part brand directory, this site was born from a desire to celebrate the products, brands and experiences that are more than just good looking on a social media feed. The ones that, whilst certainly pleasing to the senses, also spark discussion or inspire new ways of enjoying, thinking and purchasing. Ultimately, this is a collection of the things that I find to be undeniably pretty, but also thoroughly provoking—hence, Pretty Provoking.

Having carved a career in the lifestyle retail and design industry, I am fortunate enough to have access to some of the most exciting emerging brands, products and trends before they hit the shelves—and it brings me so much joy to share them with you! That being said, I am conscious that in a time of slow living and sustainable consuming, we should all be buying less. That’s why I take particular care to never use the words ‘need’ or ‘must have’ in my articles, and encourage readers to use my pieces as sources of inspiration first and buying guides second.

I have a lot to say, but even more to learn. This is the place where I share my thoughts, curiosities, and ideas, however am always open to messages from readers and brands, so please do get in touch.
